Padlocked Window

Download the full-size picture to use as your desktop wallpaper.

I hope you’re enjoying the FIFA World Cup as much as I’ve been. I was very impressed by the way Germany set about demolishing their first opponents, and by how well the North Koreans stood up to Brazil last night. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one hoping they’d get an equaliser in the dying moments of the game!

Continuing this week’s theme of doors and other openings, I spotted this amusing (well, I found it amusing anyway) sight on a recent walk to the Linear Park in Bath. I don’t think there’s any danger of this window grill making an imminent escape now that it has been secured by the ubiquitous padlock, do you? I hope you enjoy it as my choice of desktop wallpaper today.

(As an aside, this one is worth a look at full-size, just to show off the amount of detail that the Canon IXUS 200 can capture … When you compare it to what (say) the Nikon D300s + 50mm f/1.4 lens can do, and then compare the costs, I think this compact camera does alright).
