Fence Beside The Road

My theme this week is the tiny island of Lindisfarne, famous for being a place of holy retreat and for the mead and other drinks that it produces. Lindisfarne is connected to the mainland by a causeway that is only accessible when the tide goes out, and I made the area of the island around the causeway my focus for the day.

On the other side of causeway, the western end of Lindisfarne is mostly wild and uninhabited, a mixture of wonderful grassland and nature waiting to be discovered and explored. Buried in there, not far at all from the road, I spotted this simple fence, which reminded me of the very similar fences we had in our back garden at home when growing up.

Statue Outside 1 Kingsway

I could not find a plaque at all naming this statue, but isn’t she a beauty? Shot at f/2.8 because of the very close proximity of all the buildings around this place.
