My theme this week is “Five Windows”, a small collection of photos of windows taken during our holiday in Berwick-upon-Tweed in 2010.
This is one of the windows from the Church of St Peter at Chillingham, a small church dating back to Norman times. We were there to visit the Chillingham cattle, an isolated herd of cattle that are sometimes described as the closest living survivors of the now-extinct aurochs. Whilst we were waiting for the cattle tour to begin, we struck up a conversation with the chairman of the Chillingham Wild Cattle Association, and he directed us to the other end of the lane where we were parked, and the church that lay beyond.
If you’re reading this in the RSS feed, my original blog post also includes a Google map showing where this photo was taken. Unfortunately I haven’t managed to get the map to appear yet in the RSS feed, so for now you’ll have to click through to my blog if you want to see the map. Sorry.Be the first to leave a comment »
