My theme this week is our visit to the Farne Islands back in September 2010. We took one of the many popular tourist boat trips from Seahouses on the Northumberland coast, giving us about two and a half hours offshore, cruising around the islands before landing on Inner Farne.
Despite the good weather we enjoyed during our trip, it pays to remember that you are sat on a small boat travelling out into the North Sea, and that you should expect to get a bit of a soaking if you want to sit on one of the outdoor seats to enjoy the view. Dress sensibly, like this lady did, and it will all add to the fun of the day.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this week’s photos. During this trip, we did make landfall on Inner Farne (where we visited St Cuthbert’s Chapel, and next week I’ll share those photos with you. Have a great weekend!
If you’re reading this in the RSS feed, my original blog post also includes a Google map showing where this photo was taken. Unfortunately I haven’t managed to get the map to appear yet in the RSS feed, so for now you’ll have to click through to my blog if you want to see the map. Sorry.Be the first to leave a comment »
