This week’s theme is Tantallon Castle, on the Scottish coastline in East Lothian just outside North Berwick. We visited it in September 2010 whilst exploring the coastline north of Berwick upon Tweed, and we were instantly captivated by its wonderful setting on the coast with the backdrop of Bass Rock.
Inside the curtain wall, there are several spiral staircases to explore. This one in particular caught my eye because of the way the light fell onto the central column, leaving just a bit of the sturdy hand rope nearby lit too. One of my favourite shots of the whole Northumberland / Borders holiday in 2010.
