Open-air Caves At Puzzlewood

Puzzlewood, in the Forest of Dean, is like no other woodland around. With its knarled trees, twisting pathways and canyons of collapsed caves, it’s a like something out of a fairy tale or many popular television shows.

The unusual paths through the rocks at Puzzlewood are believed to once have been caves. Over time, the roofs collapsed and stone was carried away, leaving these amazing paths behind. Exploring them is great fun for children of all ages!

Access Denied at Puzzlewood

When we visited over Easter, one of the things that caught our eye was a large wooden building off in the distance. Unfortunately, this very pretty fence had been drawn over the path to it, preventing visitors from getting anywhere near it. Perhaps it is part of the set for a television show?

Getting Back To Posting

Posted by Stuart Herbert on June 5th, 2011 in News.

My apologies to everyone who has been missing their daily dose of desktop wallpaper for the last couple of weeks. My Dad is quite unwell, and I’ve been back home in Yorkshire to help look after him.

Normal service will resume tomorrow 🙂

Best regards,
Stu

In the summer of 2009, Mrs H and I went on an ill-fated fortnight’s holiday in beautiful North Wales, basing ourselves just outside of Barmouth. Although some of the photos I took that fortnight have featured in my desktop wallpaper series, this is the first time that I’ve pulled together all the shots taken on holiday by theme.

After our stroll over the Barmouth Bridge, we wandered back into Barmouth, perhaps for food (there are several wonderful places to eat around the harbour) but most likely for ice cream.
