Aircraft Windows

This week’s theme features Scotland’s National Museum of Flight once more. It is home to a wonderful collection of aircraft, both military and civilian. The star attraction of the museum is undoubtably Concorde G-BOAA, but there’s plenty of other aircraft to see and enjoy too, and we certainly didn’t get around all four hangars plus all of the outside exhibits in a single day.

To bring this week’s theme to a close, my wallpaper today is this shot of a set of aircraft windows from one of the planes in Hangar 2. I like the way that the light is reflecting on the windows, giving the appearance that I’ve photographed a toy rather than the real thing. But it also turns out to be a pertinent choice for today, as today is my last day with my current employer, before I take flight for a new town and a new challenge.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this week’s photos from the National Museum of Flight; they’re amongst my favourites from our day at the museum. It’s a wonderful place to visit with a camera – just make sure that you get there early, because there’s far more to see and explore than you can fit in a whole day.

I’ll be back on Monday with a new theme for next week’s wallpaper.
